Munich, Mülheim an der Ruhr, October 9, 2024 – Sometimes it’s the little things that make everyday life easier: ALDI SÜD has added DHL parcel lockers to numerous stores in recent years. With its latest cooperation partner, the carrier-neutral parcel locker network myflexbox, the company is now also equipping all remaining ALDI SÜD stores with a parcel service.
Running several errands in one trip is practical and saves resources. In addition to shopping at the ALDI SÜD Group, a parcel can also be picked up or a return sent via a short route. “As one of the largest open, provider-neutral smart locker networks in Europe, myflexbox offers secure and flexible pick-up stations for parcels and goods – a real added value for our stores,” says Thorsten Koch, contact person for store cooperations at ALDI SÜD. “Our customers can now pick up or send parcels at even more locations. This saves them time and ultimately kilometers – and that’s good for everyone.”
“Thanks to our partnership with ALDI SÜD, we can now make everyday life easier for both customers and parcel service providers across the board,” says Lukas Wieser, Co-CEO & Founder of myflexbox. “We are proud to have found a partner in ALDI SÜD that shares our vision of offering users increased convenience and flexibility while relieving the burden on urban logistics and reducing unnecessary emissions.”

Cooperation with myflexbox closes supply gap
Most ALDI SÜD stores already offer DHL parcel lockers. Thanks to the cooperation with myflexbox, locations that do not yet have a DHL parcel locker can now follow suit. In future, parcels from logistics partners GLS, UPS and FedEx can be received, sent and returned contactlessly at these stations. The integration of further logistics partners is planned for 2025. The company is now setting up the first stations at ALDI SÜD stores in North Rhine-Westphalia – including in Duisburg, Bocholt and Moers. Around 50 further locations will follow this year and next throughout the ALDI SÜD network.
ALDI SÜD pursues “one-stop shopping” principle
In order to make store locations particularly suitable for everyday use and therefore more attractive for customers, the ALDI SÜD Group is further developing them according to the ‘one-stop shopping’ principle. This creates additional space for restaurants, supplementary retail or offices. Where the conditions allow, the local supplier is also open to all forms of housing or creates spaces for daycare centers, fitness studios or mobility stations. The local supplier cooperates with a total of around 400 partner companies at over 1,300 locations – and the trend is rising. The individual mix of uses depends on building regulations, municipal requirements and local customer needs. The ALDI SÜD Group is very flexible and open when it comes to developing location concepts and potential partnerships.
