Leopoldsdorf near Vienna / Salzburg, May 18, 2026 – The cooperation continues to gain momentum: After DPD Austria secured almost a quarter of all lockers at around 660 myflexbox locations last fall as part of a fixed lease, more than 200 myflexbox parcel lockers throughout Austria are now already equipped with DPD Premium branding. This makes the joint out-of-home offering increasingly recognizable for parcel customers in everyday life.

Visible milestone

The fact that DPD Austria provides around 9,000 fixed lockers in the myflexbox network in addition to the generally bookable lockers cannot be overlooked in public spaces: DPD customers can see at a glance where they can collect, send or return their parcels flexibly, securely and around the clock. The rollout of the DPD Premium branding will continue step by step.

“This shows how strongly this partnership is being developed operationally,” says Jonathan Grothaus, CEO & Founder of myflexbox. “Our infrastructure remains open for different parcel services and at the same time creates maximum visibility for integrated partners. This is precisely the strength of our model: we bundle volumes, make the last mile more efficient and offer customers real added value in their everyday lives.”

Rainer Schwarz, Managing Director of DPD Austria, adds: “With the DPD Premium branding on more than 200 myflexbox parcel lockers we are creating even more visibility, orientation and trust for our customers. OOH solutions are part of our strategic objectives. Together with myflexbox, we are bringing our services even closer to people’s everyday lives and offering them exactly the flexibility they expect today.”

Clear market trend: less front door, more parcel lockers

The need for flexible out-of-home solutions is also clearly evident in the European market: according to the latest Geopost e-shopper study, which was conducted in fall 2025 on the basis of online interviews with over 30,000 respondents in 22 European countries, delivery preferences are changing noticeably. While home delivery remains the most important delivery location, its use has fallen by 5 percentage points compared to 2023. Parcel lockers, on the other hand, have increased by 4 percentage points and, at 27%, are already ahead of parcel stores at 24%. In addition, around half of regular e-shoppers already use out-of-home delivery. For DPD Austria and myflexbox, this trend confirms the strategic importance of open parcel lockers as a scalable, customer-oriented and future-proof infrastructure for the last mile.

Sustainable solar-powered infrastructure

A special focus of the cooperation is also on the expansion of sustainable parcel locker infrastructure. With the solar-powered “next-gen lockers” from myflexbox, more and more locations can be operated energy self-sufficiently and thus in a particularly resource-saving manner. They do not require an external power connection, but are supplied with solar power via adjustable photovoltaic modules and powerful batteries. This approach contributes equally to the sustainability and efficiency goals of both companies.
