“We are delighted to be able to expand our range of members with myflexbox. The company is the first BPEX member that is not a courier, express and parcel service provider,” says BPEX Chairman Marten Bosselmann. “The parcel market has long been much more than just the transportation, sorting and delivery of consignments. Innovative solutions are in demand, especially on the challenging last mile. This is exactly what the competition offers. We have been advocating user-open parcel lockers for years. They enable the sustainable and efficient delivery of parcels and offer an outstanding service for recipients. myflexbox is therefore an excellent fit for our association.”
Lukas Wieser, Co-CEO and founder of myflexbox, also sees nothing but advantages in the future collaboration: “We are delighted to be a BPEX member, as we have always seen ourselves as part of the parcel industry. We have always worked closely with the largest parcel service providers and together we realize solutions for low-emission urban spaces with the highest quality of life.”
“We are proud to be a BPEX member and to contribute to improving the parcel supply in Germany with our neutral, carrier-neutral last-mile infrastructure,” adds Jonathan Grothaus, also co-CEO and founder of myflexbox.
myflexbox is the largest carrier-neutral smart locker network in German-speaking countries. The basis of myflexbox’s success is its neutrality. myflexbox does not compete with parcel service providers, but complements their networks. From the outset, the myflexbox platform has been designed to unite all parcel service providers in one system without favoring individual ones. This is reflected in the DNA of the entire company. In order to master the numerous challenges of the parcel industry, an ever-increasing variety of solutions is required. This also means reducing dependencies on market dominators.
myflexbox already operates around 700 Smart Locker locations in over 120 cities. The aim is to reach 4,000 locations within the next few years. The long-term development of myflexbox was secured in 2023 with an additional investment of EUR 75 million.
The original press release was published by the German Parcel and Express Logistics Association (BPEX).
Founded in 1982, the Bundesverband Paket und Expresslogistik (BPEX) represents the interests of the courier, express and parcel industry (CEP) in Germany. Around 4,000 companies ensure nationwide delivery from the Hallig to the Alm, in the city and in the countryside. The entire industry in Germany currently generates annual sales of 26 billion euros, employs around 258,000 people and transports around 4.15 billion consignments per year.
