myflexbox opens first parcel locker in Bayreuth

Bayreuth / Munich, March 31, 2026 – myflexbox has set up the first carrier-neutral parcel locker in Bayreuth. A new, round-the-clock service point for flexible parcel handling in everyday life has been created at Bernecker Straße 51 at the site partner Thomas Neugebauer (Aral Center).

Bayreuth is known for its cultural appeal far beyond the region. From the Margravial Opera House, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to the Richard Wagner Festival: With the new myflexbox, the city is now also part of a growing, open network for the last mile.

One of 2,000

The location is now home to one of over 2,000 myflexbox parcel lockers in the DACH region and exemplifies the last mile infrastructure expert’s location strategy: highly frequented places where people are on the move anyway. Petrol stations, combined with stores and services, are increasingly developing into multifunctional mobility hubs in urban areas.

Jonathan Grothaus, CEO & Founder of myflexbox, says: “These types of center locations are particularly exciting for us. The frequency is high and people are already in shopping mode. This is exactly where the parcel locker seamlessly becomes part of everyday life. The parcel locker can be used around the clock for the services of the parcel service providers DPD, GLS UPS and FedEx. Users don’t need an app or additional registration and can receive, send or return their parcels flexibly.”

With the expansion in Bayreuth, myflexbox is driving forward the development of an open infrastructure for the last mile. The aim is to bundle deliveries more closely, reduce distances and make parcel services available where they are actually needed in everyday life. This creates real added value for cities and people.
