Deutsche Telekom: End devices independent of opening hours

Deutsche Telekom cooperates with myflexbox: If the customer lives within a radius of 15 km, customer service offers this option.

At the end of October 2023, Deutsche Telekom launched a pilot project together with myflexbox in Berlin.

Customers can collect the end devices they need, such as routers or media receivers, themselves from an electronically controlled myflexbox parcel locker around the clock, regardless of opening hours and delivery times.

In addition to collection from the store and postal delivery, Telekom is thus offering an additional option for replacing end devices. “We want to inspire our customers with our service by solving problems at the first point of contact – even during off-peak times and faster than in one or two days,” says Oliver Gerz, Vice President Supply Chain Management at Telekom Deutschland, explaining the approach for the pilot test.

And this is how it works

Experts in technical customer service deal with customers’ fault reports. If it turns out during processing that a terminal device needs to be replaced, they check whether a myflexbox parcel locker is available within a radius of 15 km. If the customer lives within this radius, customer service will offer to collect their replacement device from the nearest Smart Depot as an alternative to collection from the store or shipping.

myflexbox also provides the software required for collection. This makes using the parcel lockers flexible, fast and cost-effective.

What is myflexbox?

myflexbox operates a carrier-neutral network of parcel lockers with secure and flexible 24/7 parcel storage and collection. The company specializes in intelligent and networked solutions and aims to make a contribution to reducing CO₂ emissions. The goal is to operate 150 open parcel lockers in 13 major German cities by the end of 2023.

About myflexbox

myflexbox is a smart city company with the aim of minimizing CO₂ emissions on the last mile throughout Europe, caused by unsuccessful doorstep deliveries and traffic chaos caused by delivery services in cities. End customers can use myflexbox 24/7 to conveniently and contactlessly receive, send and return parcels and goods. Since it was founded in 2018, the last mile specialist has established itself as the largest carrier-neutral smart locker network in the German-speaking world. The parcel lockers are an efficient 24-hour alternative to traditional parcel stores and support the megatrend of out-of-home delivery.
