The provider-independent parcel locker network myflexbox and the largest drugstore in the Hamburg metropolitan region, BUDNI, have joined forces to make everyday life easier for consumers. With intelligent parcel lockers in and around its stores, BUDNI offers an additional service that shortens distances and saves CO₂. 16 locations in Hamburg’s stores have already been put into operation, and by the end of the year BUDNI will have a total of 39 parcel lockers in operation, including outdoor locations.
In Hamburg, you can quickly find a BUDNI in any part of the city. The drugstore is characterized by individual shopping experiences and a neighbourly attitude to life. BUDNI is expanding its range of services with myflexbox. The new parcel lockers make it flexible and easy to receive, return and send parcels and packages from various parcel service providers at just one central parcel locker. Regardless of whether the parcel comes from UPS or, in future, from other parcel service providers. And they have another advantage: the bundled delivery traffic in parcel delivery saves 4 to 9 times the amount of individual traffic and thus relieves the burden on city centers. ¹
BUDNI customers get even more service with myflexbox. Regular parcel deliveries, which normally take up a lot of time and nerves, can be combined with shopping at the drugstore.
“Today, a good neighbor accepts a parcel for his neighbor as a matter of course. The new service offered by myflexbox not only makes it easier for BUDNI customers to receive or send parcels, but also permanently reduces traffic and environmental pollution in the neighborhood,” says Christoph Wöhlke, Managing Director of IWAN BUDNIKOWSKY GmbH & Co KG.
This partnership also significantly supports myflexbox’s mission to build efficient and climate-neutral logistics infrastructure in Europe’s cities, because the principle is simple: the denser the network, the more efficient it becomes in the Hamburg region and throughout the country. “For us, the partnership with a major drugstore like BUDNI is an absolute highlight, the perfect partner to bring myflexbox to Hamburg and jointly drive forward the development of the network.
I am already very pleased to see that the offer has been so well received by BUDNI’s customers – we are definitely on the right track,” confirms Lukas Wieser, Co-CEO & Founder of myflexbox.
The number of myflexbox parcel lockers in Austria is currently 467, in Germany 76, with more than 150 parcel lockers by the end of 2023. The network will grow to around 4,000 parcel lockers in German-speaking countries by the end of 2025.

With more than 190 stores and around 1,950 employees, BUDNI is the market leader among drugstore companies, especially in the greater Hamburg area. BUDNI has been one of the most popular drugstores and the best employers in the metropolitan region for many years. Together with its partner EDEKA, the company is now also expanding in other regions of Germany. BUDNI can draw on the widest range of products in the sector. From the 25,000 items in its range, BUDNI tailors the assortment of each store to suit the people in the neighborhood. BUDNI offers its customers a neighborhood feel and the best service with friendly and competent employees. With Budnianer Hilfe e.V., BUDNI is committed to helping children and young people in the neighborhood of the stores and is committed to sustainability in the product range, the delivery of goods and the operation of the stores. BUDNI is accompanied on its path to greater sustainability by a strong partner: the independent nature conservation organization WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature). BUDNI is thus setting new standards in reducing its ecological footprint and at the same time making a strong statement in the German drugstore market.
