Hamburg / Munich, November 6, 2025 – Shell Germany and myflexbox, the largest provider-open parcel locker network in Germany and Austria, are jointly driving forward the sustainable transformation of petrol stations into multifunctional mobility hubs. Over 50 Shell stations in 14 German federal states have already been equipped with a myflexbox. More are planned.
Urban convenience meets ecological responsibility
At the heart of the cooperation is the goal of transforming petrol stations into central access points for modern, urban services. Customers benefit from an additional 24/7 service offering: parcels from several parcel services (UPS, DPD, GLS and FedEx) can be collected, returned or sent contactlessly, conveniently and quickly while refueling, shopping, washing the car or taking a coffee break.
“This collaboration is a prime example of how mobility, retail and logistics are growing together. With our parcel stations, we are jointly creating places that offer people real added value – safe, digital, low-emission. With Shell, we share the ambition to bring smart services to exactly where people are on the move: to the hubs of urban mobility,” says Jonathan Grothaus, CEO & Founder of myflexbox.
Jan Reichel, Shell Mobility Sales Manager Germany, adds: “For us, the filling station is the place where the customer can find offers for their mobility needs: a diversified range of fuels, electric charging stations, car washes and an attractive range of products in the store. The integration of the myflexbox parcel lockers is a further step towards offering our customers services directly on their daily routes – sustainably, digitally and conveniently.”

More customers, less CO₂
The integration of parcel lockers into the petrol station environment creates many advantages: more service, more frequency and more sustainability. According to studies, smart parcel lockers can increase customer frequency by up to 11%. According to an InPost study (2019), 16% of people who pick up their parcels refuel solely because of the parcel service. At the same time, bundled deliveries reduce the number of delivery trips, relieve urban traffic and save CO₂ on the last mile.
Open and suitable for everyday use
Shell Germany and myflexbox share the same aspiration: to combine flexibility, customer proximity and sustainability. Customers can receive, return or send parcels from currently four major parcel service providers (GLS, DPD, UPS and FedEx) around the clock – simply while refueling, shopping or in the bistro. Jonathan Grothaus: “A real one-stop store experience”.
