The challenge

As the number of parcels increases, the number of delivery vehicles on the roads also rises significantly. Most of these vehicles are powered by combustion engines. This trend is progressively visible across urban landscapes. Delivery vans often park in second rows due to lack of space which can lead to traffic jams. They are also frequently parked on sidewalks, increasing the risk of accidents. To put it briefly: It's tight on the last mile.

The solution

With the use of parcel lockers by myflexbox, deliveries become significantly more efficient. According to one study, a single delivery van can deliver up to 13 times more parcels per day to a parcel locker than through doorstep deliveries¹. However, it is not only delivery traffic that is being reduced because the benefits go beyond delivery efficiency. Another study reveals that bundled parcel deliveries can reduce traffic in city centers by a factor of 4 to 9 compared to individual deliveries, substantially easing urban congestion².
